Our story

Those deaths weren’t random. They were structural.

Mohamed Kamara lost his older sister in childbirth in Sierra Leone, and his aunt to pregnancy hemorrhage in Columbus, Ohio. As he puts it in the film: “Two separate continents, same results.” In both cases there were warning signs that someone should have caught.

InovCares exists so that a mother’s ZIP code, race, income or language never decides whether anyone is watching. Google filmed what he built — start there.

“Mo has a deep connection to the problem that he’s trying to solve… How can I ensure that it hurts no one else? I think that’s the ultimate motivation.”

Jay Bailey · Chief Executive Officer, Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs, in the film

Mo’s Story: Starting Families

January 2026 · 3:44. How a personal loss became a platform for high-risk mothers, and how Health Connect and Fitbit data keep clinicians watching between visits.

“Mo came up to me during the event we hosted. He started to share his work… I reached out to him next day and asked, how can we help?”

Teresa · Head of Professional Services, Health & Home Partner Engineering, Google — on how the Health Connect integration began. Credited in the film by first name.

What we believe

Three things we refuse to treat as extras.

They shape the product, the hiring and the contracts — not the marketing.

Care should sound like home

Providers and doulas who reflect her community, in English or Spanish, with interpreters in 68 languages. Members rate the experience 4.8 out of 5, and 82% open the app more than once a week.

Trust is built between visits

A ride that arrives, groceries that show up, a prescription at the door, an answer at 2 a.m. Close those loops and mothers stay in care — 69.2% of our partner-site patients kept going after delivery and brought their babies with them.

Nothing about her, without her

We co-design with patients, doulas and community organizations, test with diverse users before launch, and keep clinicians in front of every AI recommendation.

Who builds this

A mission-driven team, advised by operators.

Health-system finance, two decades of practicing obstetrics, and seventeen years of platform engineering — people who have sat with patients and with payers.

Security and privacy

What a third party checked, and what you can check yourself.

An audit tells you how controls were designed, on one day, behind an NDA. It cannot tell you how they have behaved since. So both are here: the examination, and the things you can watch today without asking us for anything.

Examined by an independent CPA firm

Johanson Group LLP examined our security controls against the AICPA’s 2018 Trust Services Criteria (TSP section 100, Common Criteria for Security) and found them suitably designed as of May 9, 2025.

This is a Type I examination: it covers the design of controls at a point in time. It did not test whether they operated effectively over a period — that is a Type II, and we do not claim one. Johanson Group’s letter of audit completion, dated November 17, 2025, is available on request; the full report goes to partners under NDA.

Watch it run, in real time

Our status page publishes current system status and the incident history as it happens — open to anyone, with no NDA and nothing to request.

An audit is a photograph. This is the footage. If something degrades, you see it when we do, not in a quarterly report.

We invite outsiders to break it

Our bug bounty is a standing invitation to outside security researchers to probe the platform and report what they find.

A company confident in its controls publishes a way to break them. The program is open now, not on request.

InovCares operates as HIPAA-compliant. No one certifies HIPAA compliance and no one certifies SOC 2 — HIPAA has no certifying body, and SOC 2 is an examination a CPA firm performs and issues an opinion on. Any vendor claiming to be “HIPAA certified” or “SOC 2 certified” is describing something that does not exist. We say what was examined, by whom, under which criteria, and as of when.
